E + V + O 8 or 9 or 10(but that may be outta your price range...what do those things go for??) I'm sure some1 will flame but those ******* are holding their value like it ain't nothing. I see em in the autotrader from 03 up for $19K & $20K still. Just find one that hasn't been modded all to hell and taken good care of. I like the older model Altima SE-R's(ala hotrex) as well...

you can get a nice 05 or so evo rs for about $17-18k or a nice evo mr for about $23-25k
i would personally go with the rs being as it is stripped down and lighter, has manual everything, and does not have the big wing and ----
but if you want somthing quick and kinda stealthy i would say the new cobalt ss turbo's are nice 260hp 260ft-lbs direct injected
and their about 21-22k (the the 4 door is coming out soon for an extra couple hundrid $)
or the caliber srt-4 is a nice car but it needs to be awd i drove on and there is just not enought rubber to put the power down being fwd
tho somthing i was thinking about getting for a new dd was a 1990 mitsu galant vr4 with the dsm running gear (uncluding awd) plus 4ws
you cand pick one up for about $1500 in decent condition and just put some money in to making it brand new again
and bigger turbo and such, sounds like a nice way to spend $2500 to me
or a vr-4 3000gt/stealth
and if you really want somthing cool get an r33/r34 skyline they are actually pretty cheap and not verry difficult to make road legal in the states and if you need parts just go to the dealership or ebay
this is where i got my old eclipse (like the one in the link http://www.japan-partner.com/Auto/68...-for-sale.html it was actually a pretty good car being a 1.8 in a big eclipse being as it had the direct injected 7600rpm 4g93 engine dohc i think it was rated at like 165hp or so)

any way here is a skyline in your price range , seems like a nice 1995 with only 59100km (about 26k miles) with an rb25det engine to me that is a steal
or look at this one a 1995 rb26dett powered gtr http://www.japan-partner.com/Auto/85...-for-sale.html

a wagon isn't insured as a sportscar, fyi. the '08 sti/wrx 5dr, '09 imp GT/sti 5dr are all insured as wagons, and wagons are seriously like $200/mo cheaper.
thats 10k you save on a car if youre taking a loan out, averaged out

S4 do not impress. My crx is faster with hmt on it.
