Default Need help with rebuilding motor!!

Its been awhile since i posted cuz i got a bike Ok, so im pretty sure i blew a ring/ringland. I dont trust all these ----- shops around town and the only shop i trust to pull the motor and put the new parts will charge a nut! Plus, its kinda like an oem honda tech so when they see a turbo car they think "its been modified" and i dont think they know about notching the block. I have a D16a6 crx si. I have all the parts to rebuild it (srp pistons/eagle rods...etc) I'm no mechanic!! I did "homemadeturbo" my crx and it came out great for about a year...then boom What do you guys recommend i do about rebuilding my motor when on a budget??

Since you don't trust the shops around your area, you should do it yourself. Buy OEM bearings and gaskets then buy a workshop manual to use as a guide. If you need help, plan a HMT meet and provide food and drinks. Hopefully some knowledgeable engine builders will be there to assist you.

Good luck.

It blew when in 4th gear hauling *** with a basemap! It wasnt fined tuned so i guess that was one of the main causes. I dont have the tools or knowledge of pulling a motor out and apart, then rebuilding it. I am more than willing to provide food/beer/ ...stripers if someone lived in my area to help out. El Paso, TX
