ya just buy a lil butane torch from home depot. if you dont have a torch, sit that bitch on there for a coupler min. then youll be gravy

if you are just going to replace the engine, and the engine only, you dont even need to ---- with the axles. I leave trannys/axles in all the time when I do motor jobs. But since this is a HF and you have some sick gear ratios, you may want to replace the tranny too at the same time.

my friend had the same prob a few days ago. i had a 3ft breaker bar with 5 foot cheater bar. snapped the head right off the breaker bar.
is it short axle or long?
you can always leave the short axle in and take the other one out, pull the motor at an angle, pop the axle out of the tranny. put it back in the same way.

I had this happend to me a few times nothing a 10ft long pipe can't take care of . BTW craftsman warranty FTW . I have broke it more time then I can remember.
