Dang! He must be smart! Ask him how many feet of 8-2 I can run before I have to upgrade to 6-2 due to the length of the run, also assuming this is for a 50amp air conditioning condenser with a seperate FAU.

anything over 200' at 50A he recommends using 6-2

No grounds not assumed, and it doesnt always have two hot leads its one hot one common(neutral).
14-3 is 3 wires all coated, 14-2G also has 3 wires two are coated ones not. 14-2 has two coated wires.

Obviously they are not designated hot/neutral/ground.


I didn't know about the "G" though. Thanks for the info.
