Download one of the TinyXP iso's from thepiratebay, rev3 IIRC uses 65 megs of RAM and uses only a handful of processes. Immediately install a boutique of anti-spyware softwares scheduled to run automatically, and a software firewall like ZoneAlarm. You should be fine.

you can get a pretty damn good tower from best buy for less than $700. just dont buy any of the extended warranties and dont buy any of the antivirus/spyware they try to sell you. take it off the shelf and go.
hell, you can even buy a pretty good package deal for like 800 with a printer, flat lcd, key board, and mouse.
or get some cheap laptop.

I'll sell you a computer pretty cheap if you want, amd 3000 1 gig ram, like 400 gigs, fresh windows install with a bunch of software, couple hundred if you want.
but just do a fresh student version windows install, dl from demonoid.com ,but you should buy my ---- if you want
