Default need computer help....

my computer is ------ homo... so here is the deal. my computer wont connected to the internet. we are using cable internet threw a router. my roommates computers connect fine (im using one to write this). my computer has two enthernet hookups (not sure why) i have tried both, and it seem the problem is that the IP that it automaticly comes up with (set on auto config) is just invalid, and i have confirmed this with my roommates computer.

peice of ---- was working ok 2 days ago... anyone have some ideas? besides a new computer, i will start that search right now...

if you have two nic cards in the back, it wont work. one card has to be removed. lan hookups are never more than one on a motherboard. so if it has two, remove the other. the other should be a card. remove that.

Or disable 1 of the network cards in device Manager or the BIOS.

Open up a Dos Prompt within windows and type.

ipconfig /renew

THis will get u a new ip address from the router

Btw i have 2 network cards in my pc, never had a problem so far...
