Default My track times... ownage...

this was the first time out to the track to time my car with it being boosted. its very dissapointing but i'm sure that there is more in her. (you're gonna laugh when i tell you how much boost and ET) This is on my recent build, I call it the poor mans Vitara set up... it consist of vx pistons in a z6 block and head, which yeilds about the same 8.5:1 compression ratio as the Vitaras.

its handled the 15psi from my t3/t4 50 trim beautifully... but since the slicks that i got as a trade where not usable i had to go out to the track on freakin bald *** 195/60/14 Falken peices of ---- passenger tires and spun my *** off all the way down the track.
heres the times

reaction...... .8618
60 ft.......... 2.4343
1/8.......... 9.6621
1/8 mph.... 80.23
1/4 et....... 14.4243
1/4mph..... 103.21

i was so dissapointed at the MPH that i just let my little brother dirve next. He managed a 14.02 @ 10psi 102.95 MPH

my car pulls nuts at 15 psi... shouldn't my traps be higher

also i have 17* total timming at 15psi which i think should be pretty conservative but i'm thinking once i get this thing on a dyno i can dial in the timming and extract more HP... but still though 15psi!!!

With that MPH you shouldn't have to do all that much more to be in the 13.7 zone. Pretty good for a first time out.

15 psi is probebly out of your traction range. 10 psi probebly hooked up better.

Its all about practice, and with some decent meats strapped to that thing those 60ft times sould just fall off, all in all, great for a first time run

you had to go check didn't you...

i was in a hurry and not wanting to have to explain everything. :P Its actually a SOHC ZC block/Z6 head, so i guess i should have said it was a a6 block. comp calc should say something like 8.49 or something to that effect.

nope, same numbers

1.6L SOHC blocks are all the same

Also remember +1.0mm OS on the head gasket, something everyone always forgets.

Where are you at over here in Eastern WA?

Those times suck for a boosted car yeah, but you have a MPH that is good for mid 13's.

I'm curious too...When you've got those kinds of speed's, what are you doing wrong?? At that point is it all made up in shiifting faster, and getting off the line better Those are Trap's to be in at least 13.8 or v
