Default my ssautorant

so.... yeah, before i really knew anything about turbo manifolds, i went ahead and shat away $350 for an OBX turbo manifold form ssautoshit.com

here's the story...... i have finally finished all the engine work on this moneypit of a car that i have. it still looks like a piece of ----, but under the hood, it's fantastic. especially with my ssautochrome-gleaming manifold. i have a 1,000 mile break-in period for the rebuilt motor, so i've been keeping the car at low RPM's with 0 psi. At around 850 miles into the break-in, my integra started to sound like a hemi-powered dodge ram. when i popped the hood, here's what i found:

WOW..... what a piece of ----! it didn't even last 1,000 miles at low RPM's.

So, here's my dilema..... i have gotten into contact with the company, and they have already shipped me a brand-new replacement manifold. should i use it or not? if i use the new one, it's a direct bolt-on. if i don't use it, i will have to find a new manifold, and remake the downpipe, and the cutome charge piping going to the intercooler.

some advice would be appreciated..... i'd also like to be told how stupid i am, and how much i should kill myself....

please fire away.

these manifolds work pretty good if you support the turbos weight to the block, not just the manifold, but the turbo itself. It should be braced enough so that you could take off the manifold and the turbo would still be in the same spot. Then it will last as long as you need it to.

honestly, if the manifold isn't supporting the weight of the turbo, then they usually last quite a long time. Your best bet would be to run an internal wastegate, because of the thin wall stainless they use, the external mount is useless. by the way, How much do you want for the old manifold?
