Way to use that thing on your shoulders. Your next step is to hire someone to do what you do for $15 and hour and sit at home playing with your *****.
My prob is that no one can do it like me when it comes to hiring someone. How do I over this in my head guys? I want to move forward and do this.

Your bitch workers do the wash/vacuum/carpet shampoo/etc.... you still handle the clay/buff/wax/etc.... that way you can go over everything and do your "finishing touch"

Man I know it. They are put there by bad washing habits. I use a two-bucket technique. One for the wash water and one for rinsing. I wash a panel then before putting my dirty mitt back into the wash water I rinse in off in the rinse bucket. F-ing simple concept! Clean the dirt off the mitt so you're not turning it into a sanding pad!!

This is the mitt that I'm using now......

That was what I was thinking of as well bro. Vacuuming is the grunt work. I hate it to tell you the truth. I've got some nasty *** plastic cuts on my hands. One was 5 stitches this summer. I've thought about small business loans or even teaming up with a body shop for a bay. I might be jumping ahead of myself but their is NO ONE here detailing where I am. And I haven't even advertised. I just go to businesses when I rains. The rest is word of mouth.

Thanks guys for you support on this. Surprised me!

Damn good idea actually. Detail all cars that leave the body shop, plus do your own business on the side.

Looks like your work will pretty much get you all the business you can handle by yourself. I know a guy who started a detail shop, makes a ---- load of money and does what he wants. He has one good employee he pays under the table, and a few grunts that just do the ---- work and show up when they want. Good money to be made and what do you have to buy, wax, soap and towels? Keep up the good work and if you can handle more, advertise. Just don't let a shitty employee ruin your good reputation.

Yeah this is one business where the overhead can be cheap. I spend about 200.00 per month in supplies and 100.00 is more of a hobby....see something new and want to get it!

Dr., I was thinking of the same thing. Hire one guy and treat him well. I had a buddy help me this summer and boy, did just one person help out so much! Then hire a couple of school kids to do grunt work. I do alot of car audio/video so I was even thinking of combining the two businesses to feef off each other.

New cars...old cars...What the hell does it matter? He's getting paid. Plus pretty good money at that also. I say keep doing what your doing and if you enjoy it then more power to you. Nothing like having your own business and being your own boss. Nothing wrong also with expanding your business also. Detailing and stereo installs are really good choices. Maybe add like paintless dent removal and tubo installs would top it off.
