Default My Jetta

This is my 91 jetta gli, i plan to do a homemade turbo setup, ive only seen a few of the 16v's turboed, i was wondering if anyone else has done a turbo setup on one of these and if so what all needs to be done. Dont hate on it to much the wheels are being sold and trading the tails for some stocks.

Looks straight, I had a friend with one, he did the 16v swap. just do this for the tails, it should look decent.

mmm, if you want to go cheap there is a 5-cylinder audi that has the same exhaust ports as the 16v. you just wind up lopping off an exhaust runner and re-jiggering the wastegate. I have an audi 5000 setup that works for the 8v vw engines waiting to go in a rabbit with a late model 2liter crossflow.

There are a lot of audis in the junkyards so it shouldn't be too hard to find. As a tip, get some good hacksaw blades or a cordless sawzall and cut the downpipe and yank the head. It's pretty easy to get the head off and is much preferred over taking off the exhaust mani in the car. 12points and some breaker bar love.
