1.) I bought it for transporation only, got it for real cheep because the dealership didn't think they could sell it for allot missing the side moldings and mirrors.
2.) If i had been in my normal set of mind, insted of my "I'm tired of ------- around with cars every other day" mood. I would have bought an mk3 supra, or something. I know everyone hates the 7mgte and thinks the cars heavy as hell, but they can be lightend up, and i know late 80's toyotas forwards and backwards.
3.) I CANNOT STAND, the VW scene. I have never seen such a large group of pretentious ******* who beat eachother off over 3 peice 8 inch wide wheels in my life. They change cosmetic parts on there cars like girls change shoes, and take more pictures of there cars than myspace -----s. There's only a select few who know ---- about the cars, and they're usualy close minded shop owners who are just intrested in selling people revo chips.

On the local vw forum some kid was asking about FMIC kits. I told him not to buy a worthless kit for 900 bucks, and id help him weld one up for around 300 bucks. I had a local kid tell me I couldn't make a front mount intercooler setup for his car for under 300 bucks. proved them all wrong, and he still bought the shitty 21x5x1 inch thick core 1.5 diameter pipe bling 900 dollar kit. The reason for this is because there kit was "dyno tested".

4.) I looked at tons of ef's before i bought my golf. I cound't find one for 1000ish. Like i got my first one with no rust, and 130k on the clock People want like 2 grand for cars that look like they've been rotting for 30 years and have 280k on the clock.

5.) Everything on my golf thats possible to make out of plastic, is made out of plastic. I think they would have made the brake pedal arm out of plastic if they could have.

I'll just drive it until it falls apart.

Anyone who hates 7MGTE is a ------- idiot. Those engines are stout as hell stock, and a headgasket later bulletproof.

I'm not a big fan of the body, it is heavy, but Lunsford/jblmk3 was running flat 12's in his off of 430 whp 490 wtq with less than $2000 spent underhood... and that was with *** traction due to IRS. I watched his car, which I was told was pretty well lightened, absolutely rape Procharged C5 Corvettes from a dig and from a roll.

Lunsford dropped his 7MGTE setup into a... '76?... Celica and is fighting the chassis right now. It does 11.5's going sideways through the traps.


Eh, I guess I've seen what you mean in the few I've interacted with. The Honduh scene isn't any better.

The coolant neck that holds the temp sensor and fan switch FTW! Or, what about the gay black plastic failure-box that is supposed to auto-adjust the cable clutch on some models? Those things suck, too. I know all this, and I try to run from VWs on sight.


It's admirable you try to absorb as much about a car you own as possible... but I'm turning hater mode back on now. ------- VW owners.

Eh. Love them or hatye them they are still a pretty impressive package. I got to rape the hell out of my friends '03 1.8t while he had it. That thing was lots of fun in the twisties. Probably the best handling FWD that I have been in so far.
