No, the 4.3 crankshaft was drilled all wrong. Despite having one of the most robust oil pumps ever made - SBC - and the oil galleys being essentially identical to a known good engine design - SBC - they are legendary for their ability to ---- rod bearings due to loss of oil pressure. Can you spell t-i-m-e-b-o-m-b b-u-i-l-t b-y s-t-u-p-i-d f-a-g-g-o-t-s? When a SBC drops right in place of a 4.3, has a crank/oilling system/aka ----------ing backbone of th engine that isn't defective, etc, then it makes absolutely no sense to do anything with one. We're talking a $5 SBC build here, it's not like they are expensive or hard to find.

BTW, the only reason this car isn't on the front page is the engine bay shot is craptastic. If the OP could get us some more pictures it'll happen.

I did not know that.
I change my mind every time i have a different engine sitting in my back yard.
I haven't found a clean 350 worth building and the 4.3 is minty fresh.
BUT knowing that, i think i resume the search for a good 350.

JD your car knowledge far surpasses anyone iv ever met or known.
good info and once again you weirded me out with how much you know.
THANKS
