my girlfriend bought me a cake
I know most of you are probly like...wtf is so special about a cake. Well before you say that let me let in on a little something. My mom is a jehovahs witness and my dad was never around due to the military. So we lived how my mom saw fit. Well if you don't know jehovah witness's don't celebrate nothing and i mean nothing. I grew up never knowing easter ,christmas or my birthday since my mom didn't see it right to do so. Well now it feels really awkward when im with friends who do celebrate it and i don't feel comfortable with it ,feels alien like. Well i never got anything for my birthday or any other day so i grew up never expecting anything...just happy i was alive and well. No one ever bought me a cake not even my ex's for my birthday. So when i saw her come in with the cake ,a smiley cookie and a card , i was truely shocked and speechless. She knew about my backround and did this cause she thought it would make me happy and it did. That happened 2 days ago and im still speechless ,its really hard for me to believe someone actually cared enough to buy me a cake for my birthday. I really felt like crying for that brief moment in time. For once in my life i was actually truely touched by the thought and still am. I guess what im trying to say is just be happy someone cares enough to put that thought into their gifts. To those who do have girls...let them know how you feel to them.

Happy birthday!
I never understood why Jehovas Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays... well, I know the scriptural reason because I've had it explained to me but I still think it's silly. Celebrating a birthday is pretty harmless if you ask me.
Congrats on getting past that though. I hope the cake tasted good!
