I wouldn't believe that the compression test was that good. ---- what people say if they are trying to sell you something.

Atleast you can rip your pistons and ---- out and throw them into a different block for pretty cheap...

damn frank, that sucks, not to be a dick to josh or you, but i was skeptical about the whole deal just b/c why would you want to buy an engine that you know was beat on, knew it smoked, and was the first build for that person, when for just a couple hundred more, you could have built it brand new yourself. anyways, at least you can get a bare d block for dirt cheap and just transfer everything over

i was a little skeptical also, but the way he talked everything was good.

turbod16.com had nothing bad to say about it, and neither did he on the site.

decent dyno numbers, and i really think he could've pulled more power had he had a different turbo. (i think the turbo was to small for the numbers he was wanting)

guess I learned my lesson in this one, do the ---- myself.

anyone have a spare D16 block, and I think im gonna go with a Z6 block...

damn, so basically, 1400 bucks for a fucked up block and half of what you were suppose to get (i just read that teh other ---- hasn't came yet), shipping baron strikes again quote from hotsex "i smokes a little, but i'm pretty sure it's just the valve seals", so he gives frand a different head to make everything o.k., you would think when he pulled the 'bad valve seal' head off, he would've seen teh piston ring laughing in his face where's my short shifter joshua........

your right kevin.

heres the cliff notes from what IM's i still have:

at first, it was $900 shipped for

"y7 block
75mm srp 9:1 pistons
crower h beam rods
oem honda bearings
je proseal rings.
enlarged oil passages in crank and bearings
ported oil pump and pickup tube
new timing belt 2 weeks ago
tapped oilpan
http://theoldone.com/articles/d%5Fse...ilding%5Ftips/
theres the site to show excatly what i had done to this.
comp test 2 days ago was 180 180 180 179
assembled by sandstrom auto machine (local legend)
made 251.9 on this block at 16 psi and theres more in it.
cost me 1650 between parts and labor
looking for 900 plus shipping"

then i put a WTB thread up, i was looking for a head, alt, clutch, wireharness, ECU, dizzy, flywheel.

he calls me right away! frank, i have all of that, almost new act xtss clutch/PP, and a clutchmasters flywheel, and a ported z6 head with a cam gear and i will do it for $1400 shipped, everything.

so far, ive received, the motor, alt, wireharness, clutch, flywheel.

after the ordeal with stealthmodes pistons, and stealthmode mentioned something about hotrex's pistons, so i pmd him...
reply "i pulled the head, everything is kosher"
also, got this pm from him when asked AGAIN about the pistons

"yeah no sweat. the comp test the day i pulled it was 180 180 179 178 right on target..
i pulled the head and found the pistons were a little black from oil and soot but they themselves look like they should. cylender walls look good"

so how do you explain this hotrex? and if this is how you put together a motor...i would hate to see that ls/vtec.
