if you plan on keeping it, get the 1000, youll be happy 2-3 years later when you dont need to upgrade. i learned to ride on a yamaha deltabox 600, very similar to a r6. i got tired of it real quick. the last bike i actually had was a gsxr 600. if i get another i am torn between the 600rr and the 1000rr. i dont ride hard, so the 600 will be fine, but me being 265lbs, if i put a bitch on the back, i am better off with the 1000.

gsxr is one of my favorite bikes, but id def get a rr over a gsxr.

Damn I really don't know what to get. The only reason I wanted a 1000 was because I wont really needed to upgrade later on. Also the price of a 600 is almost the same as a 1000. At the same time its been a few years since I own one.

Those are expensive bikes to lay down.

What kind of riding do you like to do? I bought a SV650 late last summer. I really like riding it locally. Basically any time I can sit under 65mph its a pretty fun bike to ride and handles great. Once I start getting into the 70+mph range, the bike is just a pain in the *** as the seat is very high, has no body work, no screen, basically the wind is just a pain in the *** to deal with. I knew this before buying the bike and I plan on installing a screen for spring, but you should buy a bike based on what kind of riding you plan on doing.

I'd probably stick with a 600-750cc bike. 1000cc are a bit ridiculous and unnecessary. Hell, 600cc bikes are a bit ridiculous and unnecessary....

Well I am not the type to push it all the time. It would be just a every day type of bike, just to ride and have some fun.

my first bike was also a gpz 750 turbo. first boosted vehicle i've ever driven, and that's where the addiction started. you don't still have it, do you?

ok thats the dumbest idea ive read on HMT in a long *** time, and hotrex is back, a liter gixer will ------- kill you if its your first bike. my first bike was a 600gixer and that was way too much for me. it does a 1/4 in 10.8 seconds and tops out at around 165, that ---- was crazy and im surprised im still alive. First thing you should know is that you will ------- drop that bitch, only a matter of time and the farings cost a ------- arm and a leg, insurance was a bitch for the first year and i didn't learn to ride it to its potential for a very long time... a ------- replica bike does not forgive mistakes and you can ------- die.

Whatever you do, dont buy anything bigger than a 600 for a first bike, even that is pushing it, ---- the ninja 250 looks good, and take a MSF, the money you save in insurance alone is worth it and from the way you sound it might save your *** from becoming road splatter

and dont even give me that bullshit about looking gay riding a slow bike, trust me youll look gayer riding a fast bike slow because you never took the time to learn how to ride, this ---- is life and death you dont have a ------- cage incase you wreck... OH also buy good gear, helmet, leathers and armor and dont skimp on the insurance, looks like your going to need it
