Default My engine builder has crossed the line

As you know I have been putting together a Built D16Y8 project
I have a local builder that is reputable and has built some fast cars even though he is younger than me I trust what I SEE.

Anyways its just starting to get to me hwo much he actually thinks he knows

any brand name of something I ask about he has something bad to say about it

he only wants to use brands he likes on my build
granted IM funding this build Im buying what the ---- I want to

I bought some KMS valve springs and titanium retainers (also KMS)

and dropped them off to him the other day and he starts trashing them
he said"why the ---- did you not get FERREA"

Any of you guys used KMS stuff?

so heres what raelly tops it all off
Me and him and a buddy go to hooters later that night discussing my goals costs etc
he starts talkin about the great AEM EMS and I need to buy one.

I mentioned CROME and he's like no no no no

I said well theres a lot of people I KNOW and a hella lot on HMT running it just fine

his exact reply
"Man,...---- HOMEMADETURBO"

I almost fell out my damn seat.
Im seriously thinking of pulling the plug and goin somewhere else

aint no body bashin HMT

to me HMT is proven success and willingness to go out on a limb and try something

Im sick of this ----

P.S.
he's the one that bashed the hell out of me wanting to use SRP pistons on this build and wanted me to get CP

I found some wiseco's for $400 and jumped all over it and he bashed that too lol

thats not how business should be done. No matter what YOU the customer have the final say. As the builder he can offer his advice and previous experences but he cant and shouldent tell you how to spend your money. As far as bashing hmt tell him to look threw some of these guys cars. Oh btw ---- AEM EMS TE For Life

Chnaces are he can get an AEM at dealer prices and he wants to make more money off you. Crome is free so he won't make ----. Sounds like the guy wants what's best for his pockets and not your motor.

Not that the AEM is a bad unit. Nothing wrong with it at all.......except the price tag.

It seems this guy's solution to everything is to reccomend you buy the most expensive parts possible. Its easy for him to do becuase its not his money. Obviously if your both not on the same level than ----'s not going to work out and just imagine how big of an arrogant ***** this guy is going to be if after the motor is together you find out that he fucked something up.

Its best to just pick up all your stuff, pay him for what he did and move on. Avoid headaches and bullshit now while you can...

EVERYONE says that to me about HMT. That they don't know what they're doing. I really don't care though. It runs.
