no, actually because compared to their AMD equivelant they ran hotter, were more power hungry, had less operations per clock cycle, and were thus overall slower especially per dollar spent. not to mention when they first came out they used rambus ram.

the new intel line is vastly better than their old stuff.

i dont know what the ---- your rolling your eyes at....

you are joking right? just how old do you think P4's are there guy? cause most of the ones I see are around the 2.8 HT mark. running cool, one of the main features of the P4 is the ability to reduce clock speeds at high temperatures. thats why they freeze when they over heat instead of pop like the AMD's. Now sure the AMD 64 bit runs cooler but I mean i think thats is considerably Newer than a P4.

Go pull a heat sink off of an AMD processor and pull one off of a P4 of the same equivalent and see what happenes. i promise you will be able to use the p4 when you are done.

Saying that ALL p4's are shitty because of teh random heat dissapation issues they had near the end when they were close to 3 gigs is retarted.

I mean are you really saying the P4 2.8 Hyper thread wasnt hot ---- when it came out? :1

You remember the videos of the P4's that blow up and knock a hole in the motherboard without the heatsink attached? You might want to revise that statement.

Nope never heard of them. Not to say it didn't happen i mean for gods sake I certainly am not an expert on all things PC related and stated I knew abotu the Heat disapation issues that Certain models of the later P4s had but honestly its not a large enough percentage in my opinion to warrant all p4's as junk.

Specifiably i was thinking about the Tom Hardware guide bivs of them playing like quake or something and poping the Heat sinks off of teh Processor mid game.
AMD popped like a bomb everytime. as soon as you would snap the heat sink back on the PC the game would resume right where it left off practically instantly.

Im no Intel fan boi, i just bit at his statement cause it sounded biased and weak. if it can be backed up then cool i learn something. but i know my 2.8 ht p4 has seen 3.2 with a normal temperature during my Test loads.
