as far as aftermarket parts, you whouldnt have any problem at all finding them. theres as many aftermarket parts as hondas. the 302 has been around forever. for about the same price though id go with an lt1 or ls1 z28 which whould own the stang any day.
you're an idiot, the all the LT1 and LS* powered cars are a lot more expensive

and my stang handles great

and there has always been more support for the 5.0 motor than any honda. maybe the hondas ae catching up now.

BTW not all 302 motors are the same

the 5.0 HO is different than the old 302s

mustangs handle great. way better than any small jap car ive owned. they look nice. tons of torque. quick from the factory. and the finish in the interiors is nice. not bashing gm but its better than what you would find in a trans am or a camaro. id get one for sure.

1986 gt was my first "real" car, hell of a fun ride, simple and cheap to make fast, reliable, and belive it or not it got decent gas mileage. Honda's are great and all that, but the stang was a really fun animal....rwd + tq + gears = sex....

calm down guys all im sayng is that the mustang up until now is or was on a very old platform. im not saying mustangs are bad cars. im a big fan of the foxbodies myself. but you have to respect the lt1 or ls1 when compared to the 5.0. but i do agree that mustangs are cheap, and aftermarket parts are plenty.
i might add that he was talking about the 99 and up stangs which didnt have a 5.0. they were weaker, heavyer , and more expensive than the foxbodies.

I'm impressed not too much hate has been shown. Maybe we are changing, or maybe people are just sleeping

I can tell you won't be dissapointed, they are great cars. As far as resale value, well they are not honda or subaru or pretty much most jap or german cars. American cars lose their value faster than the imports. But like they said before, on most newer cars you are already loosing money when you take it off the dealership. Even more when there's a new model already out as the 2005 mustang is. When it's under the same generation people tend to get whatever year because they all look the same, but when a new model comes out, people are stupid enough to do whatever they need to get the new car before their friend can get it.
If you get an 03-04 you might not loose too much money, but if you get a 99, which you can probably find for 7-8g's, or less, don't expect o make your money back.

Good luck and post some pictures when you get it.

mustang only has a t5 tranny. the z28 has the 6 speed that gives you 30 on the highway
