Kyle, way to generalize.
To be honest, none of us REALLY know everything that's going on in the government ect.. To me the basics of "knowing whats going on" is knowing that America is great because of the fact that you can do whatever you want, and if you don't do anything, your homeless. Plain and simple. If anyone should hate the democrat agenda for one reason, it's the fact that they don't believe people should work hard, in fact, they will punish you. (Their famous words, "tax the wealthy"). They want to give education, healthcare, social services, ect. to everyone and they think we're still gonna be this super production country.
You have to make people want to be the best they can, and giving everything away at taxpayers expense is not the way to do it.

steve your explanation would be perfectly fine with me if everybody was born into the same conditions, given the same opportunities, all starting at the same level. but the problem is that's not how it goes. some people are born into rich families, and some are born into poor families. under right wing ideas the person born into the rich family can sit on their *** and do nothing all day, letting mommy-daddy money pay for their lives, while the person born into the poor family can sit on their *** all day and die because they will have no income. on the left wing agenda the rich person could sit on their *** all day and lose their mommy-daddy fortune to taxes to pay for the poor person to sit on their *** all day and survive. both suck my *****. the stepped tax system is logical because you only need a certain amount of money to survive, it's not like rich people can only survive on higher priced things, thus they are taxed more. when I make it as an engineer and rake in the big dollaz I'll get taxed like a mofucker, and my tax money will probably go to some lazy ------- who never worked a day in his or her life, has 16 kids that are all not going to have a decent future and will probably commit crimes against me at some point, and that sucks, but some of my tax money will also go to people who are trying hard, but aren't quite making it.
social programs as I've seen them working don't work, it's lazy people getting the money, for example: a guy that used to work where I work got fired for coming to work drunk and getting mad because he had to do his job. he comes in about a month later and is bitching to us about how they're cutting down on his unemployment check, yet he isn't doing ---- for that money, he's not even looking for work, he's almost 50 and he still lives with his mom.
but I'm sure for all those lazy ******* there's at least 1 person that is actually trying. anyways, I have to go to school now, we'll continue our discussion when I get back at about 730 mst.

Kyle, seems like you have it pretty correct, but isn't there another solution to paying 9 lazy people so that we can help 1 that really needs it? Out of all the ways to get that one person the money they need, sending all of it through the government is the dumbest thing we could do.
It's kinda like if you wanted to make a donation to the local school, so you give $100 to "*****" the local crackhead to take to the school for you. Some of the money will make it to the school, but how much of it is going to your local crackhouse? That's exactly how it happens, and I just think there are better ways to TEMPORARILY help people in tough transitions.

now we are agreeing. the current method of distributing help sucks my *****. if people need food, don't give them money for food, give them a way to purchase food so the money doesn't end up in the crack house. food stamps are a step in the right direction. there are also housing social programs where the gov't pays a percentage of people's rent for them, again, money kept out of the crackhouse.
there is another alternative: don't let the gov't make all the decisions for you. if we had a system where the current taxes were still in place, but all social progams were cut, maybe slight tax breaks as well, but not too much and we used the extra money not going to social programs to fund public works, research for medicine, military intelligence, things like this, and then set up a tax break system where you could provide for low income people, have it all documented, turn those documents in to the IRS at tax time and not have to pay taxes on the money you spent helping people then that would be ideal. rich people couldn't bitch that they have high taxes because a large part of their taxes could be taken away, and poor people wouldn't have to suffer. the problem with this system is it realies on people's good will and honesty, which aren't always there.

I really think that helpless people like with mental problems and handicaps should be helped as much as they need, but with standard social services, lazy people always find that little loophole where they can cash in. I wouldn't even want to help low income people. You have to draw a line that states, "you will only get what you DESERVE". And just because Bill Gates figured out a way to make a bazillion dollars doesn't mean he should be punished by taxes more than anyone else. There's no such thing as "well he can afford it". If all his taxes were going to handicapped people and the blind and stuff, than he COULD afford it. But when he's taxed millions of dollars a year to go to able body lazy *****, that's wrong. It's punishing hard working smart people, and rewarding *********, but there has to be a better way than socialism.
