Most of the time a DVD-5 will contain the full movie with untouched video, they just drop the extra's and un needed sound/subs.
Most of the time you even get the retail menu, sometimes you dont though. But there are times when you need to re-encode the video to a lower quality, but they use CCE and do like 4-6 passes so its not noticable.
DVD-9s rarely use the full 8gb, sometimes only like 5-6, hense why untouched video is possible.
for those of u who dont know CCE is the professional DVD encoding software that the studios would use. its expensive stuff (if u pay for it, lol).
the biggest hurdle is that alot of the DVD releases that arent in US yet use PAL, and some players won't play it. Avoid PAL!
