I am starting to get into the VW scene with the purchase of my 92 shitrocco . they seems like a very easy car to work on except when it comes to modification, everything is so akward, and no aftermarket support for the CIS engines.
since I've owned mine I've tried 2 trannies with different issues, this time I have no reverse, I bought it with a bad tranny, I am on tranny 3 . I am bidding on another on ebay germany #4. its a nice car to drive, I like it better than my 98 audi a4.

That is obviously useless and retarded...There are plenty of amazing vws. Any car company has its hardcore real tuners and its jokers.

I like my dub. I Love the fact that I've had my car for over a month and have yet to see any other passat my body style, but I hate getting asked "When are you gonna toss some ecodes in it or textured euro bumpers?"

Its like when you buy a Volkswagen you HAVE to slamm it all the way down and then Euro everything. Maybe im wierd but i just like driving the damn thing.

awesome 2 stupid *** comments in one thread. How many people here have color matched parts on their cars? exactly

also please explain to me how the 1.8t is fail? throw rods in it and the bottom end is good for 500+hp? and thats fail? versus all the bullshit that has to be completely built here to make any amount of power? for more then a week. on a mild tune a 1.8t can make around 200whp and over 240wtq....yup that must be a shitty motor.
awww someones butthurt. no suprise, you own a VW. if it was a honda i was bashing you wouldnt have cared im sure.

youre on the wrong site if you think people here care about being different. honda tech has a nice appearence and cosmetic section you might enjoy.

and your going to compare building a honda to building a VW? sorry dude, honda will make more power for less money more reliably. so all it takes is pistons and rods in a 1.8t, what the ---- do you think is required to make 500WHP+ in honda? not to mention a 500whp honda will run circles around a 500whp vw

the shittiest flowing heads in production today, coil packs that ---- the bed at will and leave you stranded, a ridiculously terrible oil sludge problem, a timing belt that breaks before 60% of the factory specified interval, a complete lack of end user tuneable software (except for lemmiwinks, which is akin to performing brain surgery with a shotgun), an intake manifold that is too small from the factory stock, 250$ spare keys... and they're slow as ----.

that's just off the top of my head, i just rolled out of bed. do i need to go on?

No, VW died in the early 90's as far as I'm concerned. The last decent engineer there stuck on for a while and designed the VR6, but when no one was interested in making a real transmission he went over to Toyota.

If u cant appreciate an engine that is fully built, with a turbo or supercharger making twice the stock hp or any car done right then i dont see how you are a real car enthusiast. Doesnt matter if its a honda, vw, dodge, fiat, mini, or a motorcycle or airplane or anything. If we are in search for HP and tq then any motor done right gets my respect

Most Honda engines can make 2.5 to 3 times stock power... without removing the valve cover. Toyotas are similar to better, depending on the engine. The Mazda B6 platform. Mitsu's venerable 4G63... I could go on. Funny thing is most of these engines can handle more than that on an entirely stock part build if the engine is clearanced accordingly.

This is HMT where we cut the ---- and get to the essentials. If the engine is expensive as ---- for poor performance and reliability we ---- all over it. ---- what you do with your respect; it is ill spent.

are you insinuating that the 1.8t is fully built?
