Damn, with all that overhead you shoulda just went into the oil line business.

I'm a white guy from Ca, and mexican food is all we eat. (It helps I work in construction too). To me you have two type of mexican joints, sit down el torrito yuppy ----, and hole in the wall bombay ----. You'll find me at the hole in the wall bombay ---- all day if I can. Then you have some sit down yuppy type joints that have bomb *** food, and takeout.
This is just what I look for. Fried flour tortillas (either flautas or taco's) are a must.
I'll be there for sure. If you need any vinyl (advertising/signs) let me know. If you need a painter, I know one. (he's good at those orange/pink/flashy mexican colors too, but no mirrols (haha, I can't even spell it))

Oh, serious business now, remember this. TARGET A MARKET. Like it's going to take time for families, regular joe's and ---- to find out about the place, so in the mean time make some flyers and ----- em out to business/industrial complexes so they can be "today customers". The regular joe's will hear about it, and then you'll be gold.

Or, go into oil lines.

Thanks Steve.
The place will be in between an Yuppie mexican place and a fast food place. All the food will take no longer than 5-8 minutes to hit your table. Most sit down places take about 12-15(Ive timed it :P)

Ive got an pretty good I dea for marketing. The place is right outside the main entrance to my community(yuppie ville)and Ive allready contracted a printer to make me some door hangers offering 20% off with flyer. Its also across the freeway from a Dodge,Chevy,Honda,Lincon dealers. On my side there is a huge hospital,Suzuki and Kia dealer.

Im also going to print out buisness sized cards good for one free frozen margarita that I can hand out to selected people(real estate agents, insurance agents, car sales men)and such) that have big networks of people that they can recommend my place to.Every one likes free alcohol .I figure It will cost me a few thousnad to get people threw the door but once there in they'll be hooked.Word of mouth is the best form of advertising and its free.

Another idea I have been toying with is to advertise the grand opening on the radio and give away free food to the first 500 people that come by on opening day.It will be expensive but it will be a tax write off since I wont be making a profit.Plus I can make up some money on the drinks too.

damn raffi, that's awesom, no more mr. mom i plan on venturing out one day to start my own business, but it is scary and a big risk, i just haven't gotten the ***** up yet to lay everything on the line, so congratulations for having the ***** i'm sure you'll do well and once you get going, the money will start rolling in hey, you're house is paid for, so at least you'll always have a place to live even if the business goes under, unless you put it up for collateral

i skipped a bunch of the thread, but like everyone said, congrats man.

It will be fun, and hard at the same time. Very time consuming, but hopefully it will all be worth it. It seems like you picked a good area for it. i usually stop at the first place near me when im hungry. If no one is around, theyll come to you. As long as the food is good and the place is clean, all the local people will make u their mexican restaruant of choice. As long as you did some homework on the place, and are going to bust your ***, youll succeed. Lack of planning is the number 1 reason a place fails.

Good luck, and Freeze some ---- and send me samples .

o yea, and worst case scenario, if things ever went bad, Tint the ---- outta the windows and run a prostitution ring. Youll pay off what u owe in no time
