a cable shifted trans is a lot less forgiving that a rod/linkage shifted car. no where near the solid feel and it can be done ive ALMOST done if before in my h22 hatch crapper but i catch it before the clutch comes out. its deffinately something you have to get used to.

I mis-shifted when i was 16 in my first car, 91 civic si w/b18b and j1 tranny. Nothing left of the J1 after it was done.

I was ten feet away from a car attempting to do a 4th gear burnout in the burn out box - one of those shift into 4th, rev to the moon, and sidestep the clutch type affairs - and shift into reverse instead. Uhm, bye bye $5K Liberty gearbox.

what kind of idiot tries to do a 4th gear burnout? completely unecessary.

I've never seen the need for more than a 3rd gear one.
