PREFACE/INTRODUCTION
this is a tutorial for mirc.. it stands for my irc.. aka my internet relay chat..

all warez.. ripped movies.. ripped albums.. everything.. is first introduced into mirc.. from there it goes out into kazaa and edonkey.. torrents and bearshare and all those other bottom feeders.. you dont have to worry about fakes on mirc! everything is legit.. i am now, giving you the awesome power.. of mirc! you no longer have to be bottom feeders..

you CANNOT get a virus from anthying on MIRC, but clicking a link someone pm's you is a different server.. for that.. all you gotta do is not click any links anyone sends you.. plain and simple..

all shared files on mirc are regulated.. people go to extreams to make sure not any ------- with a server can share files...

in mirc you do not have to upload.. and your download speeds are only limited by the servers upload speed and or your download speed...

i hope you enjoy mirc.. i could have killed for someone to teach me how to use it when i first found it..

DOWNLOADING AND SETTING UP MIRC

the description of every picture will be ONTOP of ever picture... important things mentions are bordered in red...


for starters.. you need to go download mirc..
the website is www.mirc.com
click the download link.. click any state.. doesnt really matter.. and voilla!


next you need to download the settings file from the yahoo email account
username: hmtmirc@yahoo.com
password: showmethemoney
you need to download this file, and save it to the mirc directory which should be
C:\Program Files\mIRC
if you did everything right.. it should ask you if you want to replace the file... click yes..


after you done with that.. open up mirc and youll get a prompt.. saying mirc is unregestered.. and that you have 30 days to regester.. when the 30 days runs out.. it doesnt do anything.. its still fully functional.. just click continue..


by default.. the settings should pop up everytime you run mirc..
first thing you need to do is change my name.. nick.. and email.. to yours..
they never email you.. its just there..
you need to pick a unique nick.. if someone else in a channel has the same nick as you.. it wont let you join.. and it will prompt you to change your nick.. im regested to just about everychannel.. so if i catch anyone in a channel with my nick, i can just boot you.. plain and simple...


if you have zonealarm.. you need to set it up to not block irc.. which as i stated earlier.. is internet relay chat..
to stop zonealarm from blocking irc, open up the zonealarm control panel.. click on "IM security" and then click the prefrences tab then click on advanced.. then untick the box that says block irc... then click ok
ive bordered all the things i just mentioned above in the screen shot below



DOWNLOADING FILES USING MIRC

there are two main ways to download using mirc.. you can either sit there in a channel and wait for your file to show up in the scroll.. and then request a download.. or you can use a website that automatically lists files from mirc.. and makes things less comeplicated... there are a couple sites you can use.. the two main ones are www.packetnews.com and www.xdccspy.com
both sites have pop ups and sometimes xdccspy has spyware.. this is why you need a good pop up blocker.. and or zonealarm fully updated and everything upto date on ur pc before you go to the website... packetnews and xdcc spy do not list all the files.. just some of them.. this is why sometimes you may need to get your *** into a channel and watch the screen for your file name.. ill explain how to use www.packetnews.com and how to use mirc to request a file..
packetnews is generally all arround better than xdcc.. half the time xdcc is down.. while to date, ive never seen the packetnews website down...

first step.. lets go to www.packetnews.com notice? no downloads.. they have a news sections.. where they post man interesting articles to kill time..



for todays tutorial were going to search for the movie soundtrack to "saw 2"
so do a search for "saw ii" and click search... youll see a screen with all the file names and such
youll see columns..
bot = bot name..
active = how long the bot has been online, the lower the active time.. the better..
slots = how many open download slots there are.. green means ok for download.. red means theres a que.. blank means unknown.. for our download.. its blank.. youll see what happends when we click it..
que = how many people in que..
kps = download speed of server.. this is not set in stone.. sometimes a server is alot faster than it is advertised...
pack = the packetnumber for the download.. this is how the bot/server knows the file.. this is what you click to download the file.. the number should be a blue link..
gets = how many times the file was downloaded..
size = size of file..
description = durr.. description/name of file..

when you see a file you want.. click the pack number.. for our download.. im going to go with the first one on the screen
so i click the blue "#20"



after clicking the blue "#20" you should get a screen that looks like this... just as we did earlier in the tutorial just click continue


then you get another prompt that asks you what you want to do the choices are "change server and join channel" "join the channel on the current server" or "open a new connection"

so we select change server and join channel.. this will close the local server.. which isnt really a server.. and open up the server we want..

join the channel on the current server is if you want to join two channels on the same server.. because most servers dont like clones..

open a new connection is what you would select if you have a download from a different server going.. and you dont want to close the download.. if you close a server that you are downloading from.. it will terminate the download usually withing a minute.. this is why you need to stay inside the server while downloading...

any beeps you hear coming from the computer are normal.. check mirc settings to reassiign beep keys.. and or disable them...

so click "change server and join channel" and then click ok



then after alot more beeping.. your screen should look like this... you see your on the criten server.. and the channel name is iso busters..


when you clicked the packet number from packet news.. it didnt just link you up to the channel.. it also added the packet name to your clipboard.. so go to the command area.. and paste the packet request into it...



after pasting it.. hit enter.. and then go ahead and maximize the channel...
it should look like my screen shot.. and ittl tell you that its either downloading or like shown below.. that youve been put into a que...

it will tell you later on how much longer you have to wait..



but were not going to wait that long for the tutorial.. so let me show you the other way you can download the files...
now infront of you.. you see scrolling packet names.. just hang out for a while.. and find a packet you want..

i waited about 2 minutes before i saw the winamp pro packet.. crack included

so i decided i would go for it and go ahead and download it...



to download its fairly simple.. you need to scroll up past the packet name.. and find out what the request command is for the bot.. everybot has its own request command... you need to copy the command.. to do this all you need to do is highlight it.. when somethong is properly highlighted.. it becomes inverted.. then to copy.. just let go of the mouse.. below.. ive bordered the command.. you need to copy it without the quotationmarks..




now that the command is in your clip board.. you need to paste it into the command box at the bottom and then change the "X" to the proper packet number.. for our download the packet number was "6" so i substituted x for the packet numbe 6 this is all fairly simple stuff... just paste the command.. change the "X" to the packet number and hit enter!



ittl post the command into the scrolling packet names...



then the file will either start downloading.. or ittl say your in que.. in this case.. it started downloading right away



download complete... 4.41mb in 41 seconds...



then click open folder and youll see the file.. most files on mirc are in rar or rar format.. rar and tar are basically compressed files...for that you will need to download winrar

the download is free. and when your so called trial period expires.. you can still use winrar and its fully functional... to use winrar.. right click on the file.. and click extract here... and it will extract whatevers in the file into the mirc folder..




sometimes when you request a packet using packetnews you get no answer.. if you click the server window - as opposed to the channel window - it will tell you why.. sometimes the bot is set to away... or because there is a delay.. packetnews is not up to date with the bot status.. for this download for example.. i entered the command.. and it told me that no such bot existed....
"no such nick/channel"



i hope you enjoy this tutorial.. as it has taken a great deal of time for me to prepare..

the screen caps arent really that big.. but i would greatly appreciate it if a moderator could resize the pictures.. but not have em too small.. cause the text gets distorted if you do.. and then you cant read it...

how do i register mIRC as it is like a 30 day trial? can you add more sources for finding online bots n ----... im gonna tackle this when i get off work.

i think you can use mirc to find a crack for mirc but nothing happends if the 30 days trial runs out.. as i stated in the thread

packetnews is great.. its the only one i use.. but sometimes xdccspy has some stuff that packetnews doesnt have.. that is.. if the site is even up..
