mini-me turbo *VIDS*
Well i wen tto the track last night to see what kind of times the turbo mini me would put out. First run on the basemap was 14.473 @ 94.75 (2.3 60ft), then played around with ***** tune and made a few modifcations...and it ran great!!! next run was a 14.8 @ 96.8...because i wasnt planning on spinning the tires through 3rd. Then i planned for that and my best time on street tires was 14.250 @ 99.18 (2.237 60 ft).
Then i tried slicks....
15.4 @ 66 ? WTF?
pics deleted sorry, links dead. (holes in block, and no rod, rod broke and shaterred the crankshaft in half, wrist pin tore right out of the piston)
More to come, we still have to get the videos uploaded...and ill get some pics when i take the motor apart.
She was fun, now i need a new one.

more pics up later once i tear it down. looks like the pistons shattered (notice a perfect, unbroken piston ring in one of the photos). then the rod kept rotating around and shredded the girdle, and the front and back of the block, and itself. the rod is still attached to the crank, and you can rotate it around. bearings never spun (too bad, who knows til its apart).
10 psi, a slightly modified ****'s tune. 14b / hf d15b7/z6 mini me. high compression...too much power. who knows.
maybe i had a boost spike. it happened too fast. i dont know.
the run with the slicks was so slow because that was when the rod snapped. it snapped at 800 ft, thats when i shut down and started braking. so 15.4 isnt bad, considering the mini me alone ran a 16.1.
videos and pics should be up the beginning of next week.
oh, it will definetly be rebuilt. maybe try a z6 this time. and there are big plans for a recent purchase i made.

dude that was a awesome and yet crappy night. awesome in hoe big a hole is in your block and how they had to shut the track down for the rest of the night due to so much oil being on the track. and yet majorly sucking in the whole blowing you motor being without a car and getting towed back to your house at 10 am lol but still was a cool night despite all that. put another disposable d in there and boost till she blows again. dime a dozen

sorry had to clean out all the pics. but heres the vid from when i blew the motor...
its a 15.4 (although it looks like a 13...thats what i was shooting for...but 15.4 and shutting dwon completely at 800 ft isnt too bad...i tell myself that that was my 13 second pass.)
b18 swap within the next few weeks. and well see what that holds for its future.
