If you turn up the gas pressure, it will cool down your weld faster.

ya thats what i was gonna say turn up the speed of the wire, the more wire you lay down the less time it has to burn through.

Im just using straight c02 on my Miller.I get a little bit of spalter but nothing worth worrying about.c02 voids the warrenty on the regulators though couse it tends to freeze them.

As far as the heat and feed setting go,youll get the hang of it.It doesnt take long.Just keep practicing.

I figured it out!!

My roomate had just put in the wire that came with it... I found out today when replacing it, that the wire was flux core.

I bought 22 lbs. of wire today, and within about 15 minutes of playing with the settings, I could lay a nice bead and even fill the gap between a 2 and 2.5 inch pipe, Not recommended, but I could layer it and it worked pretty well.

Anyway, I just welded up a new exhaust for my car, it's cool to be able to create ----...

I 2nd that. I had the same problem when i started, you spend to much tim ein one spot waiting for the wire to feed.
I think you just need to keep practicing. mess with the speed until you find a good medium.

good luck holmes
