Interesting...so the by-product of this new fuel is metal oxide...haha...nothing like a tank-full of rust

Suggestions that aluminum or magnesium oxides are pollution... LOL. That's how it comes in ------- nature.

Aluminum used to be *really* rare and super expensive, until we learned about electricity and now we electrocute that ---- out of the ground so it disassociates from the oxygen atom and forms aluminum clumps that can be sifted out and refined. Having it already as a lump of metal-oxide with minimal contaminants makes it super easy and lots less energy-consuming to revert to pure aluminum.

I dunno about conversion os Magnesium oxide, but it is of the same family so I'm sure it is similar to identical.

Sounds pretty interesting, BUT am I the only one who thinks that whatever our future fuel ends up being will also be monopolized. The people that control our fuel sources have us by the *****, so to speak. I am all for an alternative fuel source that is less polluting, >tree hugging hippie<, but I don't think it will solve the greed associated with those that control our fuel. First it was that we are running out of oil, then it was because of natural disasters, now it's because they can't refine the crude fast enough for the energy demands, instability in the middle east, etc, etc. BULLSHIT. They know that we need it so they do whatever they want. While most of us are taking it in the *** the oil companies are making record profits. Ever notice that when the government has an investigation into the actual fuel cost that the cost drop substantially then begin to creep right back up.
Then there is corporate bastards like GM who keep shitting out nothing but over sized people haulers that get low teens for gas mileage. That's what the public wants though their big honkin SUVs that they drive around in SOLO and run others off the road while they are trying to multi task and drive at the same time. What the ---- is the point in having something that big if you only actually use the space about 1.28% of the time.
I would love to see a new viable fuel source, but we also need to change our mentality as well. If not, we'll end up in the same situation that we are now.

END OF RANT.

Flame away.

---- that. We need cheap plentiful hydrocarbon chains with high octane numbers.
