Jetta I Explorer I Me

i was talking to my friend in the explorer and then we decided to leave so i start backing up not realizing the guy in the jetta backed up behind the explorer and then i backed up sideswiping my car against the back bumper of the jetta.....i don't understand why he would back up so close when the entire parking lot was empty..
whatever it's my fault i'm not gonna try and play it off like it isn't but whatever

funny ---- is that the dudes jetta was all sorts of fucked up and i put like this little scratch on it....
then he goes what do you want to do about this..
as i look at my car that used to be pristine besides two marks on the rear bumper i go "are you serious" his car had key marks all along the side of it along with stickers covering other marks..
I said what do you want $50 to go get fucked up
and he looked at me and said no $200...so i said heres $100 and he said no so now it's his loss. because when i asked him if he was going to get it fixed he said no anyway...***.
as soon as i said hey i'll call the cops this guy was like wait how about you give me your number.....definetly didn't have a green card...

the kid saw me get out of the car all yuppied out with a peacoat and scarf because i came from a christmas party and probably saw an opportunity to get some money

i just got back from the police station because this guy has been calling me all day....
turns out the cops favored me and i'm gonna go through insurance-
the cop looks at me and says hey you look familiar, i said i used to work for the church and he goes "oh, hey" i know nothing too bad could of happened after that
So we'll see.... what do you guys suggest i do now? go to a shop? Or what?

Go get an estimate, yes. Then when you get the goods, fix it yourself and enjoy the rest of the money

well favored me in the sense of 60-40 so i don't think i'm going to be enjoying anymoney unless i bring it to the dealer to get an estimate....which come to think of it i might actually do :P For some reason i think my shift **** is crooked now but theres no way thats possible from a parking lot mishap i think i'm just imagining that but if it is i think i just saw two guys in masks put it on a flat bed....

but don't i need the insurance adjuster to come? or is that only if it's totaled?
