The guy who was complaining about not teaching enough about black history in school. We learned plenty about blacks. The problem is most significant events were by white people. Take some more in depth classes [history] and you will learn more about black history [as well as other races]. Most high school & general college [history] classes just hit the high points.

I don't give a ---- if a person is black/white/green/pink or red, if I like what they say, I like what they say. If I don't, I don't. It's as simple as that. I think skin color means ----, genetically we're 99.999999% the same. It's our culture and our societ that determine how people act, and what the become. MLK was a good man, a loving man, and that is what he wanted. In a lot of his memoirs he doesn't talk about uniting all black people, he talks about uniting all people. We need more people like him, and less people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
But... let's be real here. As long as the NAACP, BET and the other varieties of ethnic focused organizations are still around, there will be racism. It's sad, but true. Racism goes both ways, and we're not going to get away from it.

MLK was really more about equality for all races. The media and blacks today just blast him as the black rights leader and black rights this. In fact I'm sure he would be ashamed of how most of the black people of today act.

I just heard a story on the news that a black congressman called for MLK day to be a holiday 4 days after MLK died. The congress never voted on it. Ronald Reagan signed it into a federal holiday. The day isn't on his birthday or his death date. They thought his birthday was too close to Christmas, and he was a big football fan, so they put it on the third Monday of January which used to be after the weekend the super bowl used to be on so that everyone got a 3 day weekend.
