I have never studied marhtur luthor king, and I'm unaware of what exactly he did for black people. The only thing my generation has to compare him to is Jesse Jackson, a puppet for for getting up in front of crowds of black people and wiggling his neck while squblin and sqaublin about how blacks are born with a jail cell waiting for them. To my knowledge though, he's never actually done anything to help blacks get ahead.

Am I mistaken, or could the government have labeled a day for the first Jesse Jackson thinking it would make them look more sensative of the issue, while not really giving a ----?

And furthermore, how do we praise the defiance of Rosa Parks for simply saying she wasn't going to get off the bus? Did she really change history, or was the event hyped in order to make it seem like some big momentus decision? I can't help but think of all the defiant blacks since who have said, "I ain't goin' out like dat, pigs" to police officers and how they'll never be recognized for thier involvement in the civil rights movement.

Let's get to the bottom of this.

I don't really have a conspiracy theory, this is just my view based on what little I know about what he did for black people.
I saw a couple old interviews of him on TV last night, and while his comments seemed very educated and well thought, his public appearances in front of blacks would remind you of just another black guy with a perscription to jive.

i live in detroit and were force fed this ----..

MLK started the million man march.. and other forms of pacifict movements.. he told blacks to stop using violence.. and that they could better acheive there goals via pacifit movements i.e. sit ins and such.. while other people were going arround saying lets meeet violence with violence.. and ---- all whites.. MLK sai integration.. and that whites and blacks are the same people and we should work on this hand in hand!

rosa parks started the montgomry bus boycott, that showed people that blacks were a force to reckon with... and started desegregation.. and other ---- like that..

jesse jackson and alsharpton are just confused people.. they dont know what the ---- they want..

and why give them the shortest month in the year. because it shuts them up and makes it look like the rest of us care. and its funny cuz any skool bus or public bus ive been on the minorities mostly sit in the back. but that not because they are minorities its because the gotta bang a few rails or get the rest of the bubbles out and tie ---- up. its funny cuz it really solved nothing. infact letting others sit on the bus prob helped the whites by forcing car companies to make cheaper cars so they dont have to take the bus any more.

its llike dealing with a whiny kid all day long he screams how he wants a big toy. so when the first small toy comes along you give it to him because he thinks he wants it and it shuts him up. and it wasnt a huge bank breaker so it didnt ---- you up to much and for now hes happy.

Having something negative to say and hating are two different things. I don't hate any single person in life.This post also isn't meant to convey "hate". I'm telling you how I see it, and hopefully a discussion can be started where some of us learn more about why we have this holiday, because right now I view it as a pacifier.

Or we could all shut up and not attempt to get it figured out. It's your choice.
