Made an HX go fast tonite
Took a few minutes to work on a CRX with a D16Y5 (Civic HX) swap in it. Forged Bottom End.
The guy I was doing this for was TJ, alot of the NW people might know him as the guy that had the DSM 4g63 in the EG Hatch that was selling on ebay a while back
Car has a 14b or 16g setup, cant remember which. No Intercooler, 450cc injectors, Race Gas, Methanol Injection System (DSM Guys have a hard-on for Methanol)
Anyways, I didn't do a ton of tuning to the car, just a basemap and a few fuel adjustments afterwards. It hit a 12.5second pass on 18psi, then broke axle on the next pass, which was gonna be about a 20psi run.
Pretty weird, I guess the HX has a some weird economy vtec system that we just needed to basically put into vtec way soon, so the crossover was at like 2500rpm.

I've got an hx on my z6 block. I also have a low vtec crossover and people are like why would you want that? Cause rollin on 3v per cyclinder sucks till vtec kicks in and it makes your turbo spool up later. I'm gonna turn my HX head to nonvtec and permenently lock the rockers so it uses the secondary lobes all the time. Since the hx cam is slightly more aggressive then the y8 cam. Damn 12 seconds!

You're more ambitous than I am by tuning a car with methanol. It works wonders, but I would hate to tune with it and I know a handful of tuners refuse to tune with it just because it's one more complication to throw in the mix.
All that aside, it kicks ***. IAT's drop way way down. I wish I had some old datalogs from a friends cars. The IAT's were substantially lower fat the end of a run from the beginning.
