you could get an f4i for $1500 and run 10's all day stock and drive it home afterwords
on a side note most of the sub 10 second mustangs and comaro's have under 5k in them (not including the price of the car witch would varie form a $500 to 25k)
and just add tires and spray the ---- out of them whereas a 2.0l honda with a tubo and some good tires (but internals to hold the power is a must for the kinda power needed) and you could get a 300hp honda to run 12's (with good tires and a good driver)
i have seen online an f22 powered (single cam, carbed) na honda insite that run's mid 9's on motor with arround 450hp and only 2.2l

yay for johny, anyhtign anybody posts will be relevant becasue he says so lol
no but for real i actually thought it was a decent time for a semi stock car, no need to hate on other people for running close to you in a honda though.
and if you think about it, you put $300 into it...but how much was the initial cost of the car? think thats what a few guys are trying to point out. they coudl buy a $500 rex and throw a $300 turbo kit in it and run the same. wich just proves again, differant strokes for differant fokes. no need to get defensive

if you can buy a 500 dollar d16 powered crx, put a 300 turbo kit on it, you will never trap 107mph. very few will do it or come close.
a typical setup like that will trap around 100mph. go to the HMT fastest cars thread, look at the stock engine turbo honda cars, they all trap around 100mph.
and i don't give a flaming ---- about how cheap of a car you can make fast. thats not the point of my camaro or this thread
not one single honda there was running close to my car. there was a bunch of very slow ones, a couple turbo ones running 14s at about 100mph and one built/turbo/gutted/slicks civic trapping 120mph.
the car was 15k. and its my DD. not a damn race car

ok well i'll try and beat your time. i picked up a $500 97 civic coupe a few months ago and have been pieceing together a kit for it for a cheap as possible, think i have maybe $200 into so far and thats on the high side. only thing im missing at the moment is oil feed and a rear bumper but i guess that doesn't count towards the turbo kit. highly doubt i will come close but just for price comparison the other members were trying to point out that you totally missed in my post.

i don't even pay attention to new car 1/4 mile times because none of them interest me, haven't seen a new car that even crossed my mind about buying in way too long. all the supposed "sports cars" are slow as *****, ugly as ---- or way to expensive.

chevy hhr ss
chevy cobalt ss supercharged
the soon to be cobalt ss turbo (now with 260+hp instead of 205)
and i think the civic si just makes the grade (the new 9th gen or whatever it is)
probubly the new caliber srt4
you could get a used 06-07 evo 9 rs for arround 18k and run mid to low 13's stock all day and trap about 108 (up the boost a bit or some boltons and be in the 12's at arround 115)
also your mom, she was a little used but i picked her up for only $17.50 and a double cheeseburger and a side of onion rings (she goes through the traps arround 3-4mph tho)
