ls/vtec's,knock sensor....and timing retardation
ok i know for a fact that there has to be ls/vtec's here so here it goes.........i have a a frankie on my 99' si and using the 99 wiring and computer( odb2), as everybody now by not having the knock sensor on, the computer pulls back timing 3=4 degress but since im going turbo i think it will not affect it since i can advance the timing manually on the "DIZZY". now is nebody running a similar setup? i know jeff did but he had zdyne and that basically rules it out. by the cel being on for the knock sensor is the ecu running in a "CONSERVATIVE MODE" or is just the timing being pulled back?

Any CEL will throw the ecu in limp mode.
Since the LS block has no provision for a knock sensor, you can have a knock sensor not attached but grounded to the chassis and connected to your ECU, or Hasport has ECUs that are reprogrammed to allow VTEC operation with no knock sensor input. Or remove one of the mounting bolts for the alternator bracket and use this location to plug the Knock sensor into.
