whats the whole point and advantage of having the turbo in the trunk?

the exhaust gasses going into teh turbo are not as hot 8 feet back as they are 9 inches away from teh head. This preserves the life of the turbo. No need for water cooling it. it is a bit more expensive setup though. There are other benefits, but I'm not extremely familiar with it.
