Default LS build questions???

Well I am going to pick up my complete LS swap this weekend, It's all stock but I'm only payin 500 bucks for it. It's goin in my 93 civic hatch. My experience has been mainly in sohc vtec turbo motors, so i'm curious (for those with ls swaps) what type of power your pullin with an LS turbo? Also, is LS/vtec a worth/while swap with turbo? How do stock rods hold up on boost? any problems? Any advice on these motors will help me as I'm kinda dumb to the DOHC motor. thanx.

ive heard that ls's arent that great for vtec cause of the rod stroke (not good for high revving), but the stock rods are supposed to be good for higher horsepower, there was some one putting down 300 on an all stock ls, i would definitely go forged internals if you plan on ls vtec and turbo, well even for turbo if you want to get high horsepower.

I dont wanna go ls/vtec but I thought i'd ask. I want to shoot for at least 300+hp off ls turbo setup. What kinda boost do they hold? I do plan on doing internals too but i'll post a wanted topic for that later.

im making 238/204 at 10 psi on my stock ls motor. factors contributing to my slightly low output are 2.36 inch exhaust, conservative timing and like 89 degrees on dyno day. im actually on about 11.5 psi right now, so i should be a tad above 250whp. its holding up well, much better than i thought for a 200k mile motor. conservative tuning and a healthy motor to start and it will hold 250-300whp nicely. above that and you get into broken ringlands territory among other things.

b18b's have about the same stroke as a gsr motor. the vtec head will open that motor up allot. or a big fatty cam on the ls.

Yeah I'm still debating on what work to do to it first. I need to start piecing together a turbo kit and buying my other parts. I just ordered the new skunk2 intake manifold, but will it give me too much flow by using a 68 to 70mm throttle body with that? I have a huge parts list to start fufilling! The only thing i dont have picked out yet is internals (pistons/rods). I dont know what to use yet, but i really want to upgrade.

weisco or CP 8.5-9.0:1 compression pistons and eagle rods should be fine...or SCAT H-Beam rods aren't to bad...my friends runnin the weisco piston and eagle rods and he's makin 330 HP on the dyno...with an edelbrock victor X intake manifold, 1000cc injectors and some more little mods...so its a good set up...good luck with the build
