After seeing the jeep, and hatch I definately think I will eventually paint a car I own flat black they look good but not like too attention grabbing. But I would spray a clear coat on that at least one coat of clear. Over time the sun will make it fade, and rain and stuff will scrath right through to the red. At the very least wax it for some protection.

Yes water will scratch it, the H20 compound is very abrasive. You should protect it with wax designed for gloss finished cars it, will look like a monkey attacked your car with a stick of butter but at least the 50 dollar paint job will be protected.

< $1.50 / can?
Lot's of streaks. With another coat and better tips, it would actually look decent.

But from the looks of it, the red paint was much worse off.

.98c a can at lowes, plus tape and paper. Everything all said and done was around $23 bucks. The hood is a little streaky, but other than that it's pretty decent the rest of the way around
