looking to get in the rc market

Re: looking to get in the rc market
Like stated, dont buy from ebay, I would stay away from Traxxas(I have read too many bad experience stories) and decide how fast you want to go. Out of the box, nitro will be way faster but will take some patience and tunning to get the motor to last. Electric, you will spend a fortune on batteries and motors if you want the speed and reliability of nitro but they are very quiet. So you have some choices.
As far as nitro cars, look at the ready to run 1/10th on road cars by Kyosho, Associated (Ntc3) or the HPI (rs4). Parts are cheap and readily available plus they all come with a different aray of bodies. nitro cars are built a little heavier and will take a crash with minimal damage. Most electric RC arent made to take abuse, they are more geared towards racing. Keep that in mind.

Re: looking to get in the rc market
The firts one is decent. Its modeld after the FG road car which is over $1500 just for the kit(no motor or electronics). The plus side is that its gas and gas is way cheaper than nitro. The gas motors are less of a pain in the *** to tune also. The second one looks like a CEN(pronounced SEN) knock off. Parts may be a problem for both. Might not. You take a risk buying cheap knock offs because they may need to change a few kwy components in order to not get into copy rite issues in the states. This means that you may have to waite for Donalds family members to ship them from china so you can get your car up and running.
Any of the kits I mentioned in my other post will be rite at or just a few $ above $300 ready to run(minus batteries and nitro fuel). Sometimes towerhobbies.com has coupons where you can get free shipping or up to $30 off. They will be plenty fast too(35-40MPH stock). Dont get too crazy with speed. Remember, that faster you go the more damage when you crash...and you will crash!!
Just remember, nitro cars are like real cars. They have cluthces, diffs, bearings(mainly inside the motor) and breakes that constantly need manitenance and attention.

i say some of there other stuff that was ready to run but to much $$ for me just to start. i am new to them and will learn as i go but i get tired of stuff really quick and dont really want to make an initial $500 or more investment only to play with it a month or 2 tops

This is another one I would choosehttp://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGZJ4&P=ML
This one is also a good one. OFNA has great product support and their cars are awsome. But this one is 1/8th which is bigger than the other twohttp://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDPC2&P=ML
Here is a 1/10th OFNA car http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHUD2&P=ML
And we all know you cant go wrong with Tamiyahttp://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLKY2&P=ML...http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJHY9&P=ML
I would really stay away from Traxass. They put way too much ---- on their cars because they are made for dummies who want to just push a button and go. Too any things to break and I allways see them at most the hobby shops that I go to waiting to be repaird. Basically the more moving parts/electronics the higher tha chances of someting preventing you from having fun with it.

Traxass has a big hold on the market and their RCs are "cheap"($) because the Hobbby shops make up $ on the back end in service. I go to 4 different hobby shops around me and each allways has at least 3 and i've seen up to 10 Traxxas RCs waiting to be worked on for some reason(mainly transmissions and steering problems).
