what was the corvair a mid engine? that doesn't seem right.

yeah, all corvairs where rear engine (majority of the block is behind the rear axle, mid engine is when the majority is ahead of the rear axle but behind the driver). but there where a super few custom moded (non-factory) to front engines.... usually with 305's in them.
