I had to call Linksys becasue the rounter was conflicting wiht my DSL modem. Router worked perfectly right out of the box. So did the DSL modem.

Most common problem they said becasue most modems are setup up on on the same IP address. you have to change either the router IP or the DSL modem IP address to avoid the conflict.

Easy fix after they told me that.

Otherwise my compact wireless/wired G router works great.

Another thing that you guys should be aware of is that WEP encryption blows big time. There are some easy programs out there that can crack the encryption in less than 3 minutes. FBI demonstrated this awhile ago.

Use WPA2 ASK encryption. Much more robust.

Linksys = Cisco. There is no lack of quality there.

Well, they are the #1 best selling commercial brand by far, and, well, the average commercial end user is about as tech savvy as you are.

I have two Linksys WRT54G's and a Motorola WR850G running DD-WRT, which is about ten times as complex as the stock firmware, big fat two thumbs up for them.
