Lesnar in UFC

Lesnar in UFC
What do you guys think about Lesnar moving into the UFC? I think he will absolutely dominate the division. A striker with good takedown defense will stand some chance, but i dont think guys realize how strong he actually is. His arms can literally probably overpower most guy's legs when they are trying to avoid his takedowns. I cant wait to see him versus Mir at ufc 81. Mir is a washup now anyways, but it will be fun to watch

my point is that he hasn't faced a real opponent, with the exception of brandon vera, in a long time. i hope he takes the fight to lesnar, but he hasn't looked the same since his motorcycle wreck.

Mir will come in great shape, and ready to grapple with Lesnar. Lesnar will definatley put Mir on his back.. but that might not be a good thing.. a triangle or armbar can come out of nowhere when you're fighting a guy of the caliber of Mir. I mean ---- he broke tim silvia's arm, while tim was standing.

Re: Lesnar in UFC
Mir had a bad wreck on his motorcycle recently, which is why he put on a ton of weight. Sorry about the striker comment, my reading comp sucks. If you watched the WEC card a week or so ago you would see it in his face and neck and around his chest he has cut the weight. Frank is 240, and Brock is forced to be under 265 to make HW weight limits, so at the worst it's 25lbs, and at that weight it's like a 10% weight advantage. Look at BJ Penn vs Hughes. Penn walks around at 170 (fights at 155) and moved up to WW against Hughes who walks around at 185-190 and cuts a ton to get to 170. There it's more than a 10% difference and BJ Penn wooped ***. What I'm trying to get at is Brock will come in like a big goon (like Hughes) and get owned by a superior, smaller fighter. Size doesn't matter as much in a multidimensional sport like mma versus something like wrestling or boxing.

Re: Lesnar in UFC
the thing is brock isnt some big goon. He should have MMA-leading takedowns being a good wrestler and with his size and power. He cuts to 265, he as been as high as 300 at some points, so he is a ------- monster. Mir is a big boy, but its a completely different kind of strength. Lesnar has made his strength wrestling(greco) and tossing guys around. That kind of strength is much tougher to overcome than the kind you get lifting weights.
And saying Mir is superior is a falsehood. He used to be quick and explosive, but he isn't what he used to be.
striking- even- Brock hasn't ever really trained in striking but Mir is a chump when it comes to standup. He has literally never landed a good, clean, powerful punch in a fight. Brocks reach and power here could be the difference. Look at the Kim fight. He doesn't even need to break guard to land powerful shots, his inside shots while being clutched onto are powerful enough to knockout
Wrestling- brock - anyone who says different is a dumbass, lesnar will destroy him if he allows himself to be grounded and pounded.
ju-jitsu- mir - obvious but lesnar will be training with the best to avoid this and he has trained in the past in ju-jitsu, and even rolled with a couple of fairly good guys
takedowns- brock
takedown defense -brock(he was a ncaa champion, come on)
i see hardly any way mir can win. Experience? Brock has fought in wrestling, greco wrestling, and mma matches. I know wrestling is fake, but hes performing in front of millions of people. its still experience.
money on brock
