i don't know what the ---- that sensor is, but i ran in to that also and just gave it a try and they are the exact same size, and no cel's, so, it's all good

As already discussed johnny, That is the Fan switch on the back of the OBD0 B18a block. The OBD1/2 B18b blocks dont have it there, But the plug/spot is there. If you dont have a socket to take that ---- off, the obd1/2 uses the fan switch right off the radiator hosing (off the back) its a 2 pin brown plug. You just need to extend the wires from the back of the block to that sensor (and find a connector that will go on) the wires can be either way, so no big deal.
and btw B18a/b's & B20's dont have knock sensors.
