You posted an article that clearly is talking about the general benefits of LEGAL IMMIGRATION (yeah, the type that our ancestors used to get here) and you want to associate it with 11 million ILLEGAL imigrants. It's not the same thing, and part of the reason we're in this fucked up situation is because people think like you (dipshit style) ILLEGAL immigration has nothing to do with legal immigration, and the immigration debate has nothing to do with race (despite what your local news tells you, you buy, and then try to ------ on the internet). It's majority mexicans, but I don't give a ---- if they're canadian, mexican, middle eastern, or wherever they're from. The issue is ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Just think about it for 37 seconds and you'll start coming around.

Actually its clearly talking about the general benefits of OPEN IMMIGRATION. If we had a policy of OPEN IMMIGRATION, then we wouldn't have so many ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. When it takes a "decade" to be granted citizenship or denied, most people if living in a shitty enough environment will come to make a better life somewhere else even if it means doing it illegally, instead of waiting years still stuck in their poor living conditions hoping on the mere chance that they'd gain citizenship. If we did infact adopt an OPEN (free) immigration policy where the restrictions were relaxed, there would more than likely be fewer of the Illegals. So, why not grant them amnesty realize our mistake and re-open the doors? The restrictions we place on immigration are unreasonable.

The issue they have with imigrants from N.Africa.
Within Europe we can freely migrate for better work for better living, not to all countries tho, but just like I have read here in this thread people are affraid of cheap labour from poor countries.
Parties have some benefits from that fear - as long as they will keep border closed they will have support from people who are not doing very well (not educated, low positions) those people think they will loose job right after border will be opened. Do some research and see what happened when UK alowed people from E.E. to work there.
More and more countries are opening because in the end of the day they found out that there are not milions of people comming there to work for cheap.
It is highly possible the same would happen if US opened - it is seen as Eldorado, but it is not, I've been to US twice and will go back of course (need to pick up my turbo stuff
) but this is not a place of dreams - people will realize it sooner or later and many will go back to their origin countries.
Americans have a very strong national movements, what seems strange for me as probably none of you here are native Americans.

I am native to America. 
You said that the low income people here are the ones that don't want the border opened, but that's not the case. They WILL be the first to lose their jobs, and they are also the first to go to the "open the border" protests. That's why I don't understand why they of all people would be the loudest screamers.
