KIT:
No install headaches. Everything fits, usually the first time.
No parts purchasing headaches when people scam/send you the wrong parts as you collect dozens of parts from dozens of sources.
It is pretty after it is installed. Bling, bling, bling!
Custom:
Nothing fits without trimming, torquing, swearing.
You will probably be ripped off at least once.
It is ghetto-fabulous! Rust, scratches & dings!
Not saying I'd ever buy a kit, for most of the reasons listed above. But, don't fool anybody, it ain't all roses.
If you are hands-on - do it yourself. If you are well-off - pay someone. It is all the same on the track.

Re:kit vs home made
all the same on the track? are u serious!! lets see lets buy a $3000 kit and up or build ur own for a fraction of the cost!! also if u cant figure out how to fab and install somthing u made then whats the chances u would now how to install a kit? in that case u would pay some one to put it on meaning a 3000 thousand dollar kit just turned into a $5000 dollar kit... hmt owns
