I live two miles from a McDonalds with a baby grand in the front window. Simply put, I don't live in a shithole like New Jersey. Starting pay at McDonald's here is $8-9/hour.

You should see what housing here runs... some neighborhoods are undergoing property value increases of as much as 30% a year. Average nothing speshul house = $413K, with over a hundred fifty houses in Buncombe County on the market at any time worth over a million.
