K-swaps
I was just looking into what it takes to do a k swap on a 94+ teg or 92+ civic, and to make it worth while you need to do the '04 tsx k24a2 block, with the k20a jdm type R
head, and k20a jdm type R six speed tranny, just this stuff will set you back around $7,000, then add on k-pro and like 3-4 hours of tuning, the sub wire harness, axles, motor mounts, shift linkage and shifter box, plus other misc. bull ----, and you work your way up to about $10,000, if you also add a $1,000 DTR EL header, you can make about 230 whp and 185 wtq.....all for about $11,000 ....for $11,000 you can build a sleeved B series with boost that will make 500+ whp, so the question is, why the ---- does anyone do this ----?

Re: K-swaps
well, i know some people who sell (when they get one) hot K20's for like $1600 i think it is
and, I know a guy who has made custom motor mounts, throw him a few bones. could get him to also make shifter linkage, for a few more.
then all i'd need is the harness, axles, and probably k-pro or somethin.
if you know the right people, it can be done for ~$5K. still a lot, but if you consider the price of a civic..
i've seen vids of K20 EK Hatches running high 13's on street tires, with just intake and exhaust. plus have you seen that NW street racing vid thread? that EG hatch doesn't get traction till 3rd, probably also running mid 13's

Re: K-swaps
yeah i saw it, but did that thing just have the k20a? or was it a k24/k20? i have seen the dyno sheets and the k24/k20 owns all other k series, and the usdm k20a rsx type-s motor is teh suck compared to the jdm type R k20a...its definitly interesting stuff, i have never really looked into it that much before today, a stock motor that makes 230 whp and 185 wtq with bolt ons is amazing, but it wouldnt hang with the b series i would build for that price range.
