Default K series

I know that there is not a whole lot of room under the hood but I have seen you do some crazy things w/ some of the setups here. Just wondering, cost, difficulty level, how much power?

A very broad question

I've seen a couple of these in CRX's now, so they can fit.

I have a certain amount of mechanical experience - But I could never wire one.

Cost? - A U.K build would cost around £5,000 - if you could build it.
Difficulty level? - I'd score it 8/10
How much power? - It's hard to say there are alot of variables to take into account.

K series swaps that take place in the us are fairly pricey, for just a k-unit plan on spending close to 5k and on top of that around 700+ for motor mounts, 400+ for axles, 350+ for wiring harness aswell as a bunch of other parts im probably forgetting. So just for cost and simplicity a built b with half that amount of money will always be better and more cost effective.

for what would be spent swaping then turboing a K series i could hit 400+ HP on my D :P i've seen the tab for a swap go upwards of 8K and that was only about 95% complete

dear god only knows how much i could hit on a B-series with 8+ grand on my side

But youll be like every other guy on honda-tech

K swaps are different, to me not worth it because I cant afford it and I dont wanna spend that much money to get that kinda power

But soon they will become cheaper and the market will be bigger so everything will come down quite a bit in price and im sure itll be a pro swap

Little do you know.. Mounts can be had for 500, you can use the axles that come with the swap (with b series outers. and we all know b series axles are 30 each..) and a harness can be had for 200.

Get your facts strait...

one of my friends just layed down 250whp and 203 wtq with only cams, header, k-pro and ITB's on a bone stock K24
eat your heart out. Just because 99% of people on the forum can't afford it they talk it down.

Surpisingly the K20 are pretty cheap it's just like doing a b-series or anyother swap into a car that it didn't come in stock so all the little parts nickel and dime you to death. I've seen USDM K20's and K24's longblocks for under 2g's. It's just the fuel management that rapes you with like K-Pro. The K series mounts for a EG are like 600 and a EF are 750! Then the price of a header. .

I paid 450 for my brand new hasport k20/eg/dc2 mounts. strait from a hasport dealer. Like i said, they can be found for 500 all day long. you just have to look around.

I can get K20A2 swaps for $2500, DC5-R for not terribly much more. But, who wants that ----? D-series sized rod bearings, ----- rods, and transmissions that ---- the bed in stock trim with bitches driving them + never shifting above 5K.

K-series is hype, so you can pop your hood and impress a bunch of men at sausage meets. If you really want to see a bunch of guys excited... go for it.
