Default Just got back from the track

Finally, I had a chance to make a couple passes on the drag strip this weekend. It was some huge muscle car event, but I got to make 2 passes just to see what my setup had.

I was running Toyo RA1's that I borrowed from my friend, they're R compound slalom tires, but they were bald and pretty sticky for the track.

First pass, I launched at 4000 rpm and the track and tires were so sticky, i got wheel hop.. when it stopped hopping it bogged out and almost stalled.

Reaction: 0.953
60 foot: 2.382
330 foot: 6.469
MID MPH: 78.12
660: 9.639
990 foot: 12.271
MPH: 99.12
ET: 14.599

Second time, I enabled the launch control and set it to 5600 rpm and disable at 17mph. I put the timming effciantcy to 0.7 degrees/psi from 0.8. I baked the tires off through first when the launch control kicked out, hit rev limiter a couple times before shifting to 2nd, then granny shifted a bit.

Reaction: 0.736
60 foot: 2.161
330 foot: 6.159
MID MPH: 77.45
660: 9.357
990 foot: 11.997
MPH: 100.22
ET: 14.330

This is with my LS, stripped out the back seats, running 8.5psi running uberdata on a ls basemap set to 110 fuel effciantcy and 0.7 degrees/psi ignition. I know this is a 13 second setup, but I think I
need more passes to get the launch right and some tuning time on the dyno to get max whp.

Over all i'm impressed, it pulled hard down the track, it felt a lot faster than it ran.

No idea, but that's what it says on the slips.

What's a half decent (but not super crazy expert with a wicked setup running expensive slicks) 60 foot time?

yours are not bad, but they are what is slowing you down, get some slicks on there, or at least some drag radials and bring em into the low 2's or high 1's

They weren't street tires per say.. they were really sticky and bald R compound tires used for auto cross.

Stan

you shouldn't be using autocross tires for drag racing. They're made differently and are designed for different heat cycles.

turn up the boost and work on your launches and you'll hit 13's easily.
