This is the CCA intercooler. Maybe I'm going blind...but I don't see a top, nor bottom plate.

So again I ask...what is the difference, and why would I pay $45 extra for an intercooler, that for me looks strikingly similar to the tyrus one.

If your on a budget buy a Tyrus FMIC if your not pop for a CCA one. CCA ones are a little shorter but they are thicker and of better quality and I believe they are new cores unlike Tyrus's that are made out of one of these

Ford Powerstroke Intercooler

They go for about $150 used and you can make three out of it. So if you had the tools and the know how you can be rich like Tyrus or you can do custom heights or try shoving the entire hieght under your hood

CCA intercoolers do have top and bottom plates. That picture is gay and for some reason doesn't have them in the picture. I would take a pic of mine, but I don't feel like laying on the ground to prove my point.

Also, the ford powerstroke intercoolers use that extrude horse ---- core, which is the worst core to use, while CCA uses tube and fin. CCA is also thicker. CCA is also a regular poster here that you can talk to if you have a problem with something.

Just my views.

EDIT:
Here is an old picture of my CCA intercooler. You can clearly see the plate.

OK... so the Tyrus IC is a cut-up (new) ford ic... and the CCA is a new, in some views, better, core.

Those plates are there for protection purposes, no?
How fragile are these intercoolers?

This thread is starting to look like a tyrus hater thread...
I appreciate the fact that someone is willing to put the effort in manufacturing parts for a decent price.

Dude, you asked the ------- question and now I'm the bad guy for answering it?

I'm stating facts. It's not like I'm saying "Oh yeah Tyrus ***** little boys and rapes peoples moms".

In some views the core is better? Ok.......I think you need to do some research on intercooler cores.

Nobody is hating on tyrus, we're just stating the differences in the intercoolers.

i think they both are nice looking intercoolers, since i am a broke *** i am gonna get a tyrus. good price on both CCA and tyrus, compared to a $700 spearco.
