our church (So. Baptist) almost went under a year or 3 ago when someone started rumors and 90% of our 150people left. Since then we've started a new "family life center" and its 100% paid for. not finished, but paid for. Box of nails here, truckload of lumber there.. kinda like a HMT setup.. it don't all come in a kit..

I can see how you feel pressured or whatever, there some serious church/religious people out there. I feel bad I haven't gone in a while. Hopefully after schools done with and I can get my life settled.

The idea of church and religion is great I'm sure. It keeps a lot of people in check and society is probably better off that way. There are a lot of SCARY religious people that will believe whatever they are told and I would HATE to see what they would be if they didn't find "god" to dedicate their lives to.
The concept of "god" is just that though; an idea. You either believe it or you don't and that all depends on whether or not you need it to be a "good person" or if you want to be what is considered a "good person" at all.
To me "god" is pretty much an FMU.. Christianity is a patch to fill in what the quality of your character lacks.
If you need to believe that you are here for a reason to sleep at night then that is great and I'm happy you can at least overcome your voids with the "answers" that you find in the bible.
Personally I'm not "saved" because I was never in danger to begin with. I don't need to fill in the "what ifs" with fairy tails because I am completely comfortable with the fact that one day I am going to die and I am more than capable of living a decent quality life that I will be happy with the day that I do pass.

Personally I find the person that wastes their life on something that they will never have proof is real is plain naive and I can be very critical or just a total ------- to those who either impose their beliefs on me or get too worked up about trying to explain their beliefs. I've heard it all, dont waste my time.

I can't stand people that push stuff on you, that includes door-to-door salemen, car salesmen, telemarketers and jahovas witnesses(no offense to the ones that are "cool") . Even if I agree w/them or whatever, I go zero to pissed in 0.345 seconds.

I used to go to church but it was pointless cause there was a lot of things I couldn't stand, the negatives out numbered the positives so I'd come home every Sunday pissed and confused wether or not I was wrong or my church was wrong.

If I could find a church where people would just be real and chill out, I'd go...maybee I'll start my own. Service starts @ noon and theres a BBQ at the end

actually.. no.. im not uptight about anything.. im laid back and just as flexible as anyone here..
i didnt say anything bad.. i just said i never knew there were so many athiests and druggies.. pointed out a fact..


if you noticed.. the people are alot nicer.. things generally go alot smoother.. less "fake" people.. in a sense... and umm i give your church a couple months before its back to the way it was

the whole intelligent design thing is just retarded.. evoulution is not based on fact.. they should just say "we dont know" and skip the whole thing alltogether..
humans dont have instinct.. animals do.. instinct is an advantage.. now why the hell would we loose our instinct if we evolved from apes?

Televangelists are crazy. That Pat Robertson... "God is sending the hurricanes to kill homosexuals" and he thinks that just praying for "someone out there" for them to get their cancer healed will work.. and the other day I saw something on TV for him to be raising money (basically for himself).. blah

haha.. my church starts at 11 A.M. and there's free coffee and donuts afterwards.. and when theres football games they watch the game and have a BBQ...

I stay away from church. There might be a god, there might not be. Either way I see no reason to go to church and donate a % of my money to some child molester that claims to be some sort of message relayer of "the holy one".
