can you get full coverage on a salvage title car in Colorado? I'm about to give my little sister my Honda and i really don't want to do it unless she can get full coverage

you usually can't get full coverage on a previously wrecked/damaged/unsafe car

It's pointless to get comp/collision on a salvage title car. Chances are you're getting the car for a good deal, so if something happens to it (IE: crashed or stolen), you can replace the car fairly cheap.

Add up the monthly total for say 3 years for comp/collision. For example, lets say it's $50/mo. If she goes claim-free for 3 years and has a total loss, she has paid in $1,800. If the car is worth $2,500 and you have a $500 deductible, the insurance company will pay you $2,000.

You paid: $1,800
You get: $2,000 but with a claim on the insurance record. (higher future rates)

All-in-all, it's usually just not worth it to get comprehensive & collision on a salvage title car. Unless you can actually obtain comp/coll on a salvage car and get it at a good rate, I would say just don't bother.

Either way, be sure you have plenty of liability insurance on hand. I'm an insurance agent and I can't stress that enough.
